The former site of the Whampoa Military Academy is located on Changzhou Island in Huangpu, Guangzhou. It was a new type of military school established by Sun Yat-sen with the help of the Communist Party of China and the Soviet Union during the Great Revolution. Sun Yat-sen took "creating a revolutionary army to save China from danger" as the purpose of running the school, and "love and sincerity" as the school motto. He learned from the Soviet Union's experience in building the army and cultivated revolutionary military talents. The military academy is a gathering of heroes and famous generals, and it has important significance in China's modern history and military history. The military academy was held in Huangpu until the seventh term, and moved to Nanjing in 1930. In 1938 Military Academy Headquarters It was destroyed by Japanese bombing. In 1965, it was renovated and basically restored to its original appearance. In 1984, the Huangpu Military Academy Memorial Hall was established. In 1996, the Guangzhou Municipal Government rebuilt it according to the principle of "original location, original scale, original appearance" approved by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. How to get there:
1. Take the subway from the railway station to the Guangdong University of Technology campus in the university town (6 yuan per person), then transfer to bus No. 383 (3 yuan per person) to the Changzhou Island intersection in Huangpu District. After getting off the bus, walk about 100 meters to the former site of the Huangpu Military Academy.
2. Take bus No. 1 from the entrance of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, directly to the Guangdong University of Technology campus in University Town, and then take bus No. 383 directly to the former site of the Whampoa Military Academy.
