Introduction to the Eastern Expedition Martyrs Cemetery: The Eastern Expedition Martyrs Cemetery is located in Pinggang, southwest of the military academy. It was built by the Guangdong revolutionary government in 1925 to commemorate the soldiers who died in the crusade against Chen Jiongming and other rebels. Buried there are members of the Kuomintang and the Communist Party. The remains of 516 martyrs, covering an area of more than 50,000 square meters, were completed in June 1926. In front of the cemetery is the Memorial Hall for the Fallen Martyrs of the Eastern Expedition, built in 1928. It is a triumphal arch-style building covered with glazed tiles with national characteristics. In 1936, a commemorative memorial hall and a wharf for the martyrs who died in the Eastern Expedition were built at the main entrance of the cemetery, which is known as the "Little Yellow Flower Mound". Behind the memorial square, a central axis of several hundred meters is formed by the tomb passage, the tomb, the Ji Gongfang, and the group of tombstones of enlisted students. On the east side of the tomb is the tomb of martyr Cai Guangju, and on the west side are the tombs of 17 generals who were born in military academies. The cemetery was renovated in 1984, and the "Eastern Expedition Historical Relics Exhibition Room" was built in 1991.
