Scenic spot introduction:

Nanguo Temple in Tianshui has a history of more than one thousand years. It is the most famous temple in Longyou. The temple is lush with trees, towering ancient cypresses, beautiful scenery, birds singing and flowers blooming. It is listed as one of the eight scenic spots in Tianshui with "Nanshan Ancient Cypress".

Nanguo Temple is located in a valley 2 kilometers south of Tianshui City. It was first built in the Song Dynasty and was originally called "Miaosheng Temple". It was saved and named "Huguo Zen Forest Temple" by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty. It is the most famous temple in Longyou. Du Fu, a great poet of the Tang Dynasty in China, lived in Qinzhou (today's Tianshui) in 759 AD and wrote more than 100 poems in praise of it, including "Nanguo Temple on the top of the mountain, the water is called Beiliuquan. Old trees are in the empty courtyard, and the clear canal is famous in the whole town. Autumn flowers are at the bottom of the dangerous rocks, and the evening scene lies beside the bell. Looking up and down, I feel sad about my life, and the creek wind is rustling." This poem is very vivid. Therefore, from ancient times to the present, it has aroused people's interest in and yearning for it.
Nanguo Temple covers an area of 5.7 hectares. The temple is backed by mountains and faces the water. Mountain Gate Facing south and north, the courtyard wall stretches horizontally from east to west. The buildings in the courtyard are built according to the terrain of the mountain, with three entrances and seven courtyards. Mountain Gate The vertical axis corresponds to the three central halls, and is divided into three courtyards: east, middle and west. The courtyards are connected by walls and doors. The Buddhist halls in the temple are magnificent and solemn with their curved ridges and flying eaves. There are also poems about Nanguo Temple by Li Bai and Du Fu, who are known as the Gemini constellations in the history of Chinese literature, the Du Gongbu Ancestral Hall and the "Treasure of the World". Spring and Autumn Cypress " and other cultural relics, and has been listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, and a patriotism education base. There is a viewing pavilion built on the dangerous mountain to the east of Nanguo Temple. Visitors can climb up and look far away, and have a panoramic view of Tianshui City.
