Scenic spot introduction:

Caotang Temple faces Fengshui River to the east and Guifeng, Guanyin, Zige and Dading peaks of Zhongnan Mountain to the south. It is a national key Buddhist temple in the Han area established by the State Council. Built in the late Eastern Jin Dynasty, it has a history of more than 1,500 years. It is not only a famous ancient Buddhist temple, but also the ancestral hall of the Sanlunzong Sect. It is named after the roof of Jiuluo Shi's sutra translation field in the temple is covered with straw. Located at the northern foot of Guifeng Mountain in Hu County, Shaanxi Province, it has beautiful scenery, green bamboos, exquisite pavilions and profound artistic conception.

Attractions distribution:

The existing Caotang Temple is part of the Xiaoyao Garden of the Later Qin Kingdom during the Sixteen Kingdoms period of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. It was destroyed during the Northern Zhou Dynasty and rebuilt many times after the Tang and Song Dynasties. Today there are three main halls, Kumarajiva stupa, smoke well, Ming Dynasty giant bell and stele gallery and other landscapes. Among them, "Smoke in the Thatched Cottage" is one of the eight famous scenic spots in Chang'an.

Take bus 921 and get off at Caotangsi South Exit Station;

or take Huanshan Tourism Line 1 on weekends and get off at Caotangsi.
