Daxingshan Temple is one of the oldest existing Buddhist temples in Xi'an. In the prosperous and noisy ancient city of Xi'an, Daxingshan Temple is filled with ancient cypresses, blocking out the sky and the sun, giving people infinite elegance and solemnity. During the Sui and Tang Dynasties, Buddhism flourished in Chang'an. Monks from India who came to Chang'an to preach and study abroad translated Buddhist scriptures and taught Tantric Buddhism in the temple. Daxingshan Temple became one of the three major translation sites for Buddhist scriptures in Chang'an for a while, and also became the birthplace of Chinese Tantric Buddhism. Daxingshan Temple was built in the reign of Sima Yantai, Emperor Wu of Jin Dynasty, to Taikang Period (AD 265-AD 289). It is located on Xingshan Temple West Street, Xiaozhai, about 2.5 kilometers south of Xi'an City, more than 1,600 years ago. During the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, the "Three Kaiyuan Masters" Shan Yuanwei, Vajra Zhi, and Fu Kong came to this temple to teach Tantric Buddhism.

On weekdays, there are curls of green smoke, bursts of Sanskrit sounds, and the breath of Buddhism refreshing the heart and mind, washing away the tiredness of the world.
