Chichen Itza is an ancient Mayan city site located in southern Yucatan, Mexico. It was once the largest and most prosperous city-state in the ancient Mayan Empire and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Chichen Itza was built in 514 AD. It is 3 kilometers long from north to south and 2 kilometers wide from east to west. There are hundreds of buildings. It is a site of ancient Mayan culture and Toltec culture. The main monuments include the Kukulkan Pyramid, Thousand Columns Square and the Warrior Temple, etc.

The existing road divides it into two halves. Old Chichen Itza was built between the seventh and tenth centuries AD and has Mayan cultural features, including pyramid temples, column halls, court , markets and astronomical observatory, decorated mainly with stone carvings; the new Chichen Itza on the north side is a gray building with Toltec cultural characteristics, with the Kukulkan Pyramid, the Temple of Warriors, etc., decorated mainly with simple lines and plaster carvings of Quetzalcoatl.
