Course introduction: There are 7 Central American kickball courts in Chichen Itza, among which the one about 150 meters northwest of the pyramid is the most eye-catching. This was the largest golf course in ancient Mesoamerica, 166 meters long and 68 meters wide. There are stone slabs engraved with player images on both sides of the stadium. The captain of the losing team (some say the captain of the winning team) was beheaded for sacrifice. A Jaguar temple is built on one of the exterior walls of the stadium, with another Jaguar crown above it, and next to it is an open-air terrace whose sides are decorated with skull reliefs (stone-carved skulls threaded on wooden frames).
