Hongdong Ming Dynasty Prison, commonly known as "Su San Prison", is the only ancient county government prison in the Ming Dynasty that has been best preserved in China. It was built in the first year of Hongwu in the Ming Dynasty (AD 1368) and has a history of more than 600 years. At that time, Su San, a famous prostitute in Beijing, was imprisoned here after she was wronged and killed in Hongdong. There is a narrow north-south passage in the hall. There are 6 ordinary cells symmetrical from east to west at both ends of the passage. Each cell has a low door and a small window. It covers an area of ​​only 4 square meters. The small pit is less than 1 foot from the ground. According to historical records, at least five or six people were imprisoned in the small prison, and at most, more than a dozen people were imprisoned. The internal layout of this prison is an important material for studying the regulations of government prisons in feudal society.
