The Tianhou Ancestral Temple is located in Gangli Village, Shanting Township, far away from the Mazu Ancestral Temple on Meizhou Island. It consists of two parts: the ancestral temple and the former residence, as well as many historical sites. The Tianhou Ancestral Temple consists of the mountain gate archway, the east and west gates, the worship pavilion, the main hall, the back hall, the left and right wing rooms, the left and right bell and drum towers, etc. It retains cultural relics such as the Mazu statue in the Song Dynasty, the stone inscriptions of Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, the Shoufu Well, and the Bafeng Well. Mazu’s former residence is located next to the ancestral temple. It is an ancient Putian courtyard-style building. It has been restored and displayed with Mazu’s bedroom, brother and sister-in-law’s bedroom, loom room, pharmacy, etc. There is also a stone statue of Mazu on the mountain behind.
