The Tianshan Snow Ridge Spruce Forest, with its magnificent natural scenery, was ranked first among the "Top Ten Most Beautiful Forests in China" by China National Geographic. The Tianshan Snow Ridge Spruce Forest is the most important mountainous evergreen coniferous forest in the desert belt of Central Asia. It is mainly distributed on the northern and southern slopes of the Tianshan Mountains, the western Kunlun Mountains, and the western Junggar in Xinjiang, my country. Its scope stretches 1,800 kilometers from east to west, and extends to Kyrgyzstan in the west. In the Tianshan Mountains and Alai Mountains, snow-covered spruce generally grows in the mid-low mountain to sub-alpine zone at an altitude of 1500-2800 meters. Within the zone, forests are interlaced with mountain meadows, grasslands, and shrubs, and their lower edges are often close to tall trees. The mixed broad-leaved forest is lush and colorful, forming a beautiful scenery.

Nalati Mountain on the banks of the Ili River is the area where snow-capped spruce is most luxuriant. The West Tianshan National Nature Reserve with the Qatbulak Mountain Canyon as its core is called the kingdom of snow-capped spruce. The mountains here are covered with ice and snow. The trees on the hillside are towering, and the vast continuous spruce forest covers an area of ​​280 square kilometers. The local snow mountain spruce is generally 50 to 60 meters high, with annual rings of more than 300 to 400 years. Its crown is long and narrow, and its main trunk is thick and straight, like a giant gathered Umbrellas rise from the ground, layer upon layer, like a green Great Wall built along the mountain, which can be called the essence of the Tianshan forest.
