Hatengtaohai National Nature Reserve in Inner Mongolia is located on the northeastern edge of the Ulanbuhe Desert in the northwest of Dengkou County, Bayannur City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It was promoted to a national nature reserve in July 2005, with a total area of 123,600 hectares. The main protection objects of Hatengtaohai National Nature Reserve are desert vegetation ecosystems, rare and endangered wild animals and plants and their living environment.
