Scenic spot introduction:
Guoen Temple stands side by side with Guangxiao Temple in Guangzhou, the ashram of the Sixth Patriarch Zhufa, and Nanhua Temple in Caoxi, Qujiang, the ashram of Lifelong Dharma. They are also known as the three ancestral halls of the Sixth Patriarch. Guoen Temple is not only the former residence of the Sixth Patriarch's physical Bodhisattva, but also the holy place where the Sixth Patriarch preached Dharma, passed away, and compiled the Sixth Patriarch's "Dharma Treasure Altar Sutra". Guoen Temple is located at the foot of Longshan in Liuzu Town, Xinxing County, 13 kilometers away from the city. It was built by the Sixth Patriarch Huineng in the first year of Hongdao (683) of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty to repay the kindness of his parents in raising him. It is named "Baoen Temple".
