Scenic spot introduction:

Wenzhou Dongtou Scenic Area is famous for its strange islands, beautiful reefs, beautiful beaches, secluded caves, abundant fish and numerous birds. It is the only provincial key scenic area named after a county in Wenzhou City. Dongtou is one of the 12 island counties in the country, consisting of 168 islands. It is known as the "Hundred Island County" and the "Pearl of the East China Sea". It is one of the fifty most worth-visiting scenic spots in Zhejiang Province. The rich cultural characteristics of southern Fujian, the national sea fishing base, and the best coastal photography spots are all the charm of this island.

Attractions distribution:

Dongtou is located outside the mouth of Oujiang River. The main tourist islands include Damen Island, Haizhong Lake, Dongsha, Wanghailou, Xiandieyan, Zhuyu, Banpingshan and Daqu Island. Each island has a very rich landscape, such as beacon towers, forts, bathing beaches, caves, rocks of different shapes, reefs and many pavilions, as well as Zhongputuo Temple, Martyrs Cemetery, monuments, memorials, etc. Reliefs, military theme parks, Mazu Palace, poetry galleries, pavilions and many other historical and cultural landscapes and monuments have greatly enriched the connotation of island tourism.

1. Every year on March 23rd of the lunar calendar, it is Mazu’s birthday and September 9th day of her ascension to heaven. Mazu Palace will hold large-scale sacrificial activities, which is a grand gathering of folk cultural activities.

How to get there:

Bus route: You can take a train, plane, etc. to reach Wenzhou, and then take a long-distance bus to the Dongtou New Town Passenger Transport Center; there are ferries between various islands.

Self-driving route:

1. In the direction of Shanghai, Suzhou, and Jiaxing: enter the Jiasu Expressway and cross the Hangzhou Bay Cross-sea Bridge, then go to Ningbo via the Ningbo Ring Expressway , enter the Ningbo-Taiwan Expressway and get off at the Wenzhou East exit.

2. In the direction of Anhui, Nanjing, and Hangzhou: Go to Hangzhou Shanghang-Jinqu Expressway and transfer to Zhuyong Expressway, then transfer to Ningbo-Taiwan Expressway and get off at the Wenzhou East Exit, or go to Shanghang-Ningbo Expressway and transfer to No. 3 Expressway to enter Ningbo-Taiwan Expressway. Get off at the Wenzhou East exit.

3. In the direction of Jiangxi, Quzhou, Jinhua, and Lishui: transfer from Jinliwen Expressway to Ningbo-Taiwan Expressway and exit at Wenzhou East Exit.

4. Fujian direction: Take the Ningbo-Taiwan Expressway to the Wenzhou East exit. After getting off the expressway, take Airport Avenue east, turn to Huangshan and pass Lingkun Bridge, then go straight through Lingni North Causeway and Wudao Bridge to reach Dongtou Scenic Area.
