The Hongdou Gorge in the Huguan Taihang Grand Canyon is named after the rare tree species, yew, which grows in large tracts. It is recognized as "China's No. 1 Love Gorge" and is also a unique place for lovers to meet. Hongdou Gorge has narrow exits at both ends and a wide hinterland, shaped like a gourd. Along the gorge, there are cliffs on both sides, strange rocks intertwined in the hinterland of the peak, ancient temples and ruins on the bank still exist, hanging waterfalls, springs dotted between the cliffs, gurgling river valleys, ancient trees, rare tree species and various plants all over the canyon. The 30-mile long valley is a distant place where natural scenery and cultural landscape complement each other. It can be called a 30-mile valley and a 30-mile gallery. Hongdouxia is a natural botanical garden. According to a preliminary investigation by botanists, there are more than 330 species of plants growing in the canyon, including many rare plants and plants with high ornamental taste.
