Introduction to Chongyun Temple: Chongyun Temple, formerly known as Digu Temple, commonly known as Jiulian Temple, is located in the beautiful Hongdi Village and the mountain north of the village in Hongdouxia, Huguan County, Shanxi Province. The founding date of the temple is unknown. Records began in the Sui and Tang Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Chongyun Temple was destroyed by wars many times and rebuilt many times. There are 12 inscriptions on the reconstruction of the temple left during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. During its peak period, it had jurisdiction over 18 temples and more than 500 monks.
