Travel Guide to Huangyao Ancient Town in Guangxi

Scenic spot introduction:

Huangyao Ancient Town in Guangxi originated during the Kaibao period of the Song Dynasty. The buildings and streets in the town are arranged according to the Nine Palaces and Eight Diagrams formation. The residential houses are of Lingnan style. The streets are mostly paved with bluestone slabs. In addition, there are many mountains, rivers and caves nearby, presenting a typical karst landform, forming a natural landscape garden ancient town where cultural attractions and landscape environment are integrated. It is praised by the world as a "dream home".

Huangyao Ancient Town is located in the lower reaches of the Li River, 200 kilometers away from Guilin. The town covers an area of 3.6 square kilometers. The area is a typical karst landform, with towering peaks, deep caves, clear streams, and towering ancient trees. The natural landscape has eight major scenes and 24 minor scenes. Most of the houses in the town maintain the style of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The eight streets in the town are all built with bluestone slabs. The cultural relics include more than 20 temples and 10 pavilions and other Ming and Qing buildings. The famous ones are Civilization Pavilion , Baozhu Temple, Xingyu Temple, Lion Temple, Ancient stage , Wu Family Ancestral Hall, Guo Family Ancestral Hall, Zuolong Temple , Jianlong Temple, Jianlong Temple, Dailong Bridge, Hulong Bridge, Tianran Pavilion, etc. In addition, there are calligraphy works by Han Yu, Liu Zongbiao, and the Communist Party of China Former Site of Guangxi Provincial Working Committee There are memorial halls, statues of martyr Qian Xing, residences of cultural celebrities such as He Xiangning, Gao Shiqi, Qian Jiaju, and many poem couplets and inscriptions.
Huangyao Ancient Town was once jointly recommended as "China's most tourist-worthy ancient town" by the Asia-Pacific Tourism Cooperation Organization, the World Overseas Chinese Tourism Cooperation Organization and the organizing committee of the China-Foreign Tourism Brand Promotion Summit at the award ceremony of the 2005 China-Foreign Tourism Brand Promotion Summit. It was also selected as one of the 50 most worthwhile places for foreigners to visit in China. The crews of Hong Kong TVB's "Tea is Strong in Hometown" and "Wine is Pure in Hometown" also made a special trip to Huangyao to shoot exterior scenes.
