Introduction to the Zhou Enlai Poetry Monument: The Zhou Enlai Poetry Monument is located in Guishan Park at the foot of Lanshan Mountain. In September 1917, Zhou Enlai traveled east to Japan to study. On his way back to China in April 1919, he visited Kyoto and wrote four poems in vernacular. On January 22, 1979, the "Zhou Enlai Poetry Monument Preparation
Committee" was jointly initiated by Japan-China friendship groups and celebrities in Kyoto. On April 16, the poetry monument was completed. The poem stele is 2.4 meters high. It is made of hard saddle stone, a specialty of Kyoto. It is slightly oval in shape and stands on a round platform made of large and small stones. The front of the stele is engraved with the poem "Lanshan in the Rain" by Zhou Enlai written by Liao Chengzhi.
