Bamiyan introduction: The Bamiyan Valley is a small valley located at an altitude of 2,590 meters in the Hindu Kush Mountains north of Bamiyan City in central Afghanistan. To the north is the Daiwaj Mountain, a branch of the Hindu Kush Mountains. To the south are the Baba Mountains, between which the Bamiyan River flows. It is not only an outstanding representative of the cultural and religious development of ancient Bactria between the 1st and 6th centuries AD, but also a witness to the tragedy of the Taliban's bombing of two Bamiyan Buddhas in 2001 that shocked the world.
