Introduction to Magellan’s Cross: Magellan’s Cross, located on Mactan Island in the east of Cebu Island, was erected in 1521 by the Portuguese navigator Magellan when he was preaching Catholicism in Cebu. Later people built an open-air altar for the cross, and also built a pavilion-style house to store it. Now, a hollow outer frame made of Tinadalo wood is specially built to contain it. At the same time, the hexagonal ceiling murals retain their original appearance, and the colors are very bright and realistic.
