Cebu, known as the "Queen city of the South", is the earliest developed city in the Philippines. It is located in the center of the Visayas Islands and was discovered by the Portuguese navigator Magellan in 1521. It is surrounded by the Philippine Islands and is dotted with palm-fringed fishing villages, which is beautiful and quiet.

How to get there:

Cebu is a regional transportation hub. Mactan-Cebu International Airport has daily scheduled and special flights to and from Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.

Most long-distance ferries from Manila to ports in the Southern Islands stop in Cebu City, including the WG&A SuperFerry and Sulpicio Lines routes. Speedboats such as SuperCat and Oceanjet operate to Bohol, Panay, Negros, Mindanao and Leyte. Several slow boats also take the same route.
