Introduction to Seokjojeon: It is the earliest Western-style building in Korea. It was originally built by the British and belonged to a British company. It was completed in 1910 after Japan took control of Korea in 1905. After Gojong's death, the Seokzojeon Hall became an exhibition hall for Japanese art works and was open to the public. After liberation, the United States and the Soviet Union held a meeting here in May 1946. Currently, the East Building of the Stone Building is the Imperial Palace Cultural Relics Exhibition Hall, and the West Building is the branch of the National Museum of Contemporary Art.
