Introduction to Jinshiyan: Jinshiyan is a large natural grotto in the cliff. It is famous for the brightly colored "stone dragons" on the stone walls inside the rock. The grottoes have been occupied by monks since the Tang and Five Dynasties. During the Chongning period of Emperor Wei Zong of the Northern Song Dynasty, the Buddhist layman Fayun came here to build a nunnery and live in seclusion. It has a history of nearly 900 years. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, five hundred Arhats and Guanyin statues were added to the temple, but all were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution. After 1980, nuns such as Jian Cheng and Chang Ci returned to Jinshiyan. They lived frugally, overcame many difficulties, and built the temple on their own. After years of hard work, the road was paved and the Buddha statue was renovated, Jinshiyan was given a new look.
