Introduction to the South Gate Archway: Minghu Nanmen is a national-style archway. In 1952, the Jinan Fuxue Confucian Temple moved here. The archway was originally a wooden structure, but was changed to a concrete wooden structure in 1984. The style remains the same, with five colorful and heavy single eaves, decorated with kissing beasts. The roof of the archway is covered with yellow glazed tiles, and the clouds and brackets under the eaves are supported. The forehead squares are painted with "Rising Sun and Cloud Crane" , "Golden Dragon Playing with Pearls", "Passion Flower" and other patterns, the plaque has three gilt characters "Da Ming Lake" written on it. 12 slanted columns support the three-step roof of the square. The column bases are sandwiched by stone drums. The entire The building is magnificent and magnificent, and is regarded as the symbol of Daming Lake.
On the west side of the archway stands a stone stele titled "Da Ming Lake" in the 16th year of the Jiaqing reign of the Qing Dynasty (1811). It was written by Yu Shudian from Dengzhou (today's Penglai). The three words "Da Ming Lake" on the plaque of the archway are engraved according to the handwriting of the stele. A small stone bridge with carved railings is built in front of the square, and there are stone creeks under the bridges. Clear springs such as Pearl and Zhuoying flow into Daming Lake through this creek. There is a wharf in the square, shaded by willow waves, and painted boats are moored to ferry passengers.
