During the construction of the canal in the 1960s and 1970s, the sealing soil of the Chu King's Tomb was severely damaged. The height of the ground was only 4-5 meters and the diameter was about 70 meters. Archaeological exploration and local excavations show that the main tomb is an A-shaped earth pit with a vertical cavity and a wooden coffin tomb with multiple steps. The side length of the tomb entrance is about 67 meters. The depth of the tomb entrance from the top of the coffin is about 14 meters. The area of ​​the coffin room is about 400 square meters. . There is a sloping tomb passage on the east side, about 33 meters long, about 6 meters wide at the east end, and about 30 meters wide at the west end. In 2011, the Chu King's Tomb was protected by filling in the ditch and covering it with soil. The current height of Chu King's Tomb above the ground is about 16 meters, and the surface is covered with grass.
