Introduction to the Monument of Dezheng to the Prince of Langya County: There is a stele pavilion in the front yard. In the pavilion is the "Stele of Dezheng to the Prince of Langya County" of the Tang Dynasty engraved in 906. It is commonly known as the "Monument to the King of Fujian" and is for Emperor Ai of the Tang Dynasty. Carved by Li Tong, the stele is 4.9 meters high, 1.87 meters wide and 0.29 meters thick. It is made of black shale and has a granite base covered with lotus. The inscription is intended to record the family history of Wang Shenzhi and his achievements in governing Fujian. It is the oldest stone tablet in the temple of the King of Fujian. Guo Baicang called it "one of the four major steles in the world". The author is Yu Jing, the Minister of Rites of the Tang Dynasty during the Tianyou period, and the writer is Wang Ti of Hongwen Hall. The inscription is rigorous and the calligraphy is solemn. It is an important material for studying the history of Fujian in the late Tang and Five Dynasties.
