Introduction to St. Agnese Church: St. Agnese Church is located in the middle of the square and is a work of Borromini. The church's facade can be called an example of Baroque decorative art. The majestic church of Sant'Agnese in Arcone on one side of the square is a masterpiece by Bernini's artistic rival Borromini. Legend has it that Bernini's outstretched arms in La Plata were intended to prevent the cathedral designed by his rival from collapsing. However, this legend is not consistent with the facts. Because the fountain was built in 1651, and the church was only completed in 1666.
