Introduction to the Asian Art Museum: The Asian Art Museum of San Francisco has the most extensive collection of Asian art in the world. Later, at the suggestion of Italian designer Guy Aulenti, the museum was moved to the old site of the San Francisco Public Library opposite the Civic Center and rebuilt. The new museum opened on March 20, 2003.
