Introduction to the Tamarix Botanical Garden: There are about 110 species of plants in 3 genera of the Tamarix family (Tamaricaceae) in the world, mainly distributed in the grasslands and desert areas of the Old World. There are 32 species in 3 genera in my country, and the three genera have different ecological types. Among them, Tamarix has higher comprehensive utilization value. The strange willow garden was built in 1992 and covers an area of 2 hectares. It has collected and preserved 20 species of plants from 3 genera of Tamarix, including 17 species of Tamarix, 2 species of Pipa, and 1 species of Cypress, accounting for 10% of China's total. With more than 50% of the species distributed, it is the germplasm resource bank that preserves the largest number of Tamarix plant species in the world. It has become an important species resource bank and research base for Tamarix plants in China, and can provide a basis for systematic research on the formation of flora in arid areas. It provides conditions for the protection and sustainable utilization of the phylogeny and evolution of Tamarix plants and their diversity.
