Introduction to the Provincial Department of Industry: The former site of the Shandong Provincial Department of Industry (Sixitang) covers an area of 1,434 square meters and houses the Provincial Economic and Trade Commission, Water Conservancy Department, Agriculture Department, Industrial and Commercial Bureau, Forestry Bureau, and Supply and Marketing Cooperative exhibition rooms. In September 1943, the Provincial Political Committee established the Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce, which was changed to the Industrial Department when the provincial government was established in August 1945. The famous economist Xue Muqiao is appointed as the director. It has three departments and technical rooms: industry and commerce, cooperation, agriculture and forestry. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the Department of Industry spun out many departments and bureaus such as industry, agriculture, and commerce. In 1950, the Department of Industry was abolished and its functions were exercised by derived departments and bureaus.
