Introduction to the Spirit Pagoda Hall: The Spirit Pagoda is the relic of the Panchen Lama of past dynasties. There were originally eight Panchen Lama pagodas built in Tashilhunpo Monastery. After the fifth to ninth Panchen Lama’s pagodas and sacrificial halls were destroyed during the “Cultural Revolution”, a burial pagoda hall was rebuilt, named “Tashi Nanjie” ( auspicious heaven). Among them, the pagodas and shrines of the first to third Panchen Lama were not built in Tashilhunpo Monastery.
