Introduction to Shiyang Ancient Town: Shiyang traces its historical origins, starting from the Han Dynasty and belonging to Yuexi County. Yunnan has been a rich source of well salt since wells were dug for salt extraction in the Western Han Dynasty. The late Ming and early Qing dynasties were the heyday of Shiyang salt production. Several provinces in southern Xinjiang and neighboring countries on the border were all proud of being able to enjoy Baijing salt as white as snow.
