Introduction to "The Last Judgment": The third treasure is the huge oil painting "The Last Judgment". The painting is based on the martyrdom of Jesus and was completed in 1696 by a painter named David Klocker von Ehrenstrahl. This painting was first placed in the cathedral and later moved to the Swedish Royal Palace. After a fire razed the palace to the ground in 1697, the painting was fortunately rescued and never left the cathedral.
