Introduction to the North Gate Plaza of CUHK: Historically, due to the water transportation from the CUHK Pier to Tianzi Pier, the main buildings on the campus were all facing south and north, and the North Gate was the main campus gate. The bronze statue of Sun Yat-sen, the symbol of CUHK, also faces the north, which means the "Northern Expedition"; the main axis of Yixian is like a pen extending from the Pearl River, with the tip of the pen in the south and the gallbladder in the north, implying that water is continuously drawn from the Pearl River, that is, the four seas. Elites gather at CUHK. The square is mainly composed of the archway, the CUHK badge, the CUHK motto and the CUHK history. The archway is the most eye-catching building in the square. It is an antique Chinese double-story archway and was rebuilt according to the style of the ancient archway of CUHK.
