Sun Yat-sen University was formerly known as the National Guangdong University, which was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-sen in 1924. It was later renamed "National Sun Yat-sen University", "National First Sun Yat-sen University", and then restored to its former name, abbreviated as "Sun Yat-sen University". Sun Yat-sen University has four campuses, located on the banks of the Pearl River and the South China Sea. It is now a key university directly under the Ministry of Education of China and is listed in the 985 Project and the 211 Project.

Sun Yat-sen University is located in Guangdong Province, which is at the forefront of reform and opening up. The school has four campuses, three in Guangzhou and one in Zhuhai. Each campus has its own unique educational structure, with a total area of 6.17 square kilometers. The campuses are lush with trees, green grass, beautiful scenery, and each has its own style. It is a great place to cultivate sentiment, study and do research.
