Jinta Temple Introduction: The Jinta Temple temple has been destroyed, and only two grottoes are located on the red sand cliffs of Cigou on the west bank of Dadu Ma River. The grottoes were first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty. The grottoes have unique structures, complex layouts, and painted sculptures. The exquisite techniques and rich themes rank first among the Matisi Temple Grottoes.
The two grottoes contain more than 260 painted sculptures and more than 600 square meters of murals dating from the Sixteenth Kingdom to the Northern Liang Dynasty. There are still ruins of the original temple in the pine forest opposite the grotto. The clay sculptures of the Golden Pagoda Temple are made of high-volume sculptures, which are full of three-dimensional feeling, and have a strong body, vivid and free posture, and the ability to fly in the air. This artistic achievement is unique in the country.
