Introduction to Chairman Mao Memorial Hall: Built to commemorate leader Mao Zedong, it is located south of the Monument to the People’s Heroes in Tiananmen Square. Located at the former site of Zhonghua Gate, it covers an area of more than 57,000 square meters and has a total construction area of 28,000 square meters. The main building of the memorial hall is square, with a length and width of 105.5 meters and a height of 33.6 meters. The body of Chairman Mao Zedong, the founder of the People's Republic of China, is placed in the hall. An endless stream of Chinese and foreign guests come to pay their respects every day.
