Introduction to the Palace Museum: The Palace Museum is located on the north side of Tiananmen Square. It is a comprehensive museum in China built on the basis of the imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties and their collections. The Forbidden City in Beijing was built in the Ming Dynasty. 24 emperors lived here in the Ming and Qing dynasties. It has a history of about 600 years. The palace complex covers an area of 720,000 square meters and has more than 8,000 palaces of various types. The entire building is splendid, solemn and gorgeous. It is one of the five largest palaces in the world together with the Palace of Versailles in France, Buckingham Palace in the UK, the White House in the United States and the Kremlin in Russia.
Opening hours: off-season (October 15th to March 31st) 8:30-16:30, peak season (April 1st to October 14th) 8:30-17:00;
Tickets : 40 yuan/person in off-season, 60 yuan/person in peak season.
