Introduction to the Working People's Cultural Palace: The Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace is located on the east side of Tiananmen Square in Beijing. It was originally the Ming and Qing Imperial Ancestral Temple built in the 18th year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1420). After liberation, it was opened as a worker-operated building at the suggestion of Premier Zhou Enlai. A place for cultural activities for the masses, it has become a "school and paradise" for working people and a tourist attraction for Chinese and foreign tourists.
