Introduction to Awashima Hall: It was built to house the identity of Awashima Myojin, the god of Wakayama Prefecture. It was built from the end of the 17th century to the beginning of the 18th century. Now it has been renovated. In addition to enshrining the original deity, Amitabha Tathagata, it also enshrines Awashima Myojin, Void Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva and adopted son Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Every year on February 8th, a "Needle Offering" is held to give thanks for the donation of sewing needles that are no longer in use. On the right side opposite Awashima Hall, there are the "Needle Support" pagoda and the "Daheiwa Pagoda".
