Introduction to the mountain gate of Enmu Temple: The ruins are located opposite the west gate of Peking University. Enmu Temple was built in the 42nd year of Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty (1777 AD). During the Qianlong period, the Empress Dowager lived in Changchun Garden for a long time. After the Queen Mother died of illness, Emperor Qianlong "Zhao Cheng Family Law" expressed his grief and built Enmu Temple next to Enyou Temple. The temple originally had three courtyards, which were destroyed by the British and French forces in 1860, leaving only one mountain gate. In 1981, it was announced as a cultural relic protection unit in Haidian District.
