Tongbo Introduction: On May 10, 1950, the Kuomintang retreated from Dongshan Island, taking away a total of more than 4,700 young people. However, in this village with only about 200 households, 147 young and strong men were forcibly taken to Taiwan. Overnight, the hometown changed dramatically, flesh and blood were separated, and the world was filled with sorrow. Hundreds of women who had lost their husbands came to the beach in groups, facing the east coast of the strait deep in the sea of clouds, burning incense, turning it into paper and sprinkling wine. As a result, Tongbo Village gained another sour and bitter name - "Widow Village".
