Introduction to the appearance of the Pitti Palace: The front of the Pitti Palace is 205 meters long and 36 meters high. It is made of huge rough stones. The only decoration on the front facade is the lion head statue between the window brackets on the ground floor. The two wings protruding forward of the palace were built in the Lorraine period.
