Palazzo Pitti is one of the most magnificent buildings in Florence. This palace of the Medici family is connected to the Uffizi Gallery on the other side of the Arno River through the Vasariano Gallery, presenting a typical architectural style of the Renaissance.

The Pitti Palace was originally built by the Florentine merchant Pitti in 1457, hence its name. In 1465, the Pitti Palace was bought by Cosimo de' Medici and became the palace of the Medici family. It was redesigned by Brunelleschi, and the two side buildings were added between 1764 and 1783, and finally became what we see today.
The interior decoration of the Pitti Palace is in the classic 17th-18th century Baroque style, which is divided into the Palatine Gallery, Silver Museum The Pitti Gallery houses the works of art and treasures owned by the Medici family, including 11 works by Raphael.
