Introduction to the Soviet Red Army Martyrs Monument: The Soviet Red Army Martyrs Monument in Tumen was established in September 1949 to commemorate the 20 Soviet Red Army soldiers who died in the fight against the Japanese invaders and the liberation of Tumen on August 17, 1945. The monument is in the shape of a sword, with a reinforced concrete structure and a terrazzo surface. The front faces the southeast and is 15 meters high. The front of the monument is engraved in Russian with the words "Glory belongs to the Red Army soldiers who fought bravely to expel the Japanese invaders from Tumen City in August 1945." The inscription is embossed with the Soviet Union's national emblem, and there is an iron red five-pointed star on the top of the monument.
