Introduction to Museum No. 1: Museum No. 1 was built in 1820 by King George IV. With the efforts of the later owner, Sir William Jackson Hooker, the collection was enriched, including a large collection of Botanical drawings, the oldest known examples of textiles, medicines, chewing gum, dyes and wood, were used as the basis papers for the Museum of Economic Botany, and Britain's first horticultural school was opened here.
