Introduction to Bethune Model Ward: Bethune Model Ward is located in Songyankou Village, 45 kilometers east of Wutai County. On June 17, 1938, Canadian thoracic surgery expert Comrade Bethune came from Yan'an to Jingangku Village, the headquarters of the Shanxi-Chahar-Hebei Military Region, and on June 19, he rushed to Songyankou Village, the headquarters of the military region's rear hospital, where Comrade Bethune worked hard nearly four months. The original "ward" building was burned down by the Japanese army in 1940, and the current building was rebuilt in 1974.
