Introduction to the residences of the Banpo people: Up to now, 46 house remains have been discovered at the Banpo site, which are divided into round and square, with the majority of them being round. Most of the houses are semi-crypt type, and there are also a few above-ground buildings. The area of a round house is 12-30 square meters; the area of a square house is generally 12-40 square meters. The unearthed central "big house" covers an area of about 160 square meters. It was a public gathering place or the residence of the clan leader at that time.
