Introduction to the group of urn coffins: 82 urn coffins were discovered in the Banpo site, and each urn coffin contained an infant. Most of the urn coffins are distributed near the residential area, some are distributed in groups, and the rest are scattered in various parts of the residential area. The pottery basins and bowls used as coffin lids often have small holes drilled into the bottom. The inner walls of some pottery basins are painted with human faces, fish patterns or deer patterns, and some pottery bowls have carved symbols on the rim.
