Introduction to mung bean shochu: Mung bean shochu was the imperial wine of the Ming Dynasty and was famous as green wine. The prescription was introduced to Yaowan by the imperial physician Zhao Xuemin in the late Ming Dynasty. In 1765, Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty paid a private visit to the Tianhou Palace in Yaowan, where he drank wine and recited poems, praising the world's fine wines.
