Scenic spot introduction:
Jokhang Temple in Lhasa is located in the center of the old city of Lhasa. It is also known as "Zulakang" and "Jokhang" (Tibetan for Buddhist temple). It was built in the 21st year of the Zhenguan reign of the Tang Dynasty (647 AD) by the Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo to commemorate the arrival of Princess Bhrikuti in Tibet. After generations of repairs and expansions, it has formed a huge building complex. The Jokhang Temple integrates the architectural styles of Tibet, Tang, Nepal and India, and has become an eternal model of Tibetan religious architecture.The temple was originally called "Resa", which later became the name of the city and evolved into the current "Lhasa". After the Jokhang Temple was built, it was repeatedly modified and expanded during the Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties to form its current size. The Jokhang Temple has a history of more than 1,300 years and has a supreme status in Tibetan Buddhism. The Jokhang Temple is the most splendid Tubo period building in Tibet, and it is also the earliest civil structure building in Tibet. It has pioneered the Tibetan flat-style temple city bureau style.

Tour: There will be a lama debate on the second floor platform in the afternoon, which is worth watching.
There are stairs at the ticket office on the ground floor that lead directly to the platforms on the second and third floors. On the golden roof (platform) of the Jokhang Temple, you can overlook the Potala Palace and the Jokhang Temple Square, which is very pleasant.

How to get there:
You can walk there from the city center, or take a minibus and get off at the Tibetan Hospital, or you can take a tricycle or taxi, but you can only reach the front of the square and need to walk in.
